Are you ready for winter? Ski resorts are opening, the weather is getting colder, snow is in the forecast – I guess its about time. Speaking of ski resorts, we’ll be on tap at Copper Mountain!

And speaking of winter, we have a couple incredible treats for you this Thursday. Our Thirsty Thursday new beer release is a barrel-aged porter that was aged in Woody Creek Rye Whiskey barrels and it is wonderful – perfect for the weather we’re currently having.
In addition to that, we’re hosting another Comedy Night by Herron Entertainment that evening as well. It starts at 7:00 PM at our Downtown Taproom (604 Main Street, Louisville). Note that we will be closed to the public for the show. We have limited seating and are close to selling out, so be sure to get your tickets as soon as you can. You can purchase tickets at either taproom for $15 in advance or $20 at the door (if we’re not sold out).

Back to the beer we’re releasing this Thursday, our You Have No Idea Barrel-Aged Porter. It will be released in both taprooms. The base style is a robust porter, generally defined as a substantial, malty dark ale with a complex and flavorful roasty character. Ours pours satiny black with a creamy tan head. The nose is sweet bourbon, poignant but not overbearing, with hints of chocolate and caramel from the malts. You Have No Idea offers a flavor that is perfect on a cold fall evening – cozy, like a warm fire. It’s a kisser, not a biter.

This Sunday we will be hosting a benefit for “Canines for Disabled Kids” from 1 – 4 pm at our Brewery Taproom, 657 S Taylor Ave, Unit E, Louisville. There will be a band, a silent auction, food and, of course, beer – all to benefit disabled children. We will donate $1 from every beer sold to the charity. Speaking of canines, each month we will choose a Crystal Springs brewery dog of the month. Look for information on Facebook in the next few days.

We hope to see you this Thursday. It will be a night of great entertainment and wonderful beer! Bring in food if you’d like, order a pizza from Lucky Pie (they deliver to our taproom), or pick up take out from one of the other wonderful restaurants nearby. Stay warm, enjoy a beer from an Independent craft brewery, and we’ll see you Thursday!
