Doc's American Porter
One of the first beers Crystal Springs will market is a robust porter. This is a complex beer that uses seven different grains from three different countries, American and British hops, and our clean house yeast strain. Doc’s has a strong malt flavor, with notes of chocolate and coffee, and a hint of roast in the finish. We call it an American Porter because, even though it uses grains and hops from other countries, it is here where they all come together for a bold, flavorful beer.
Pair it with food
Enjoy unaccompanied, with foods that are rich, aromatic, spicy or hot, charred or smoky, (think dishes with gravy, stews, stronger cheeses, barbecue, grilled food – steaks and burgers, smoked meats, and oysters. Doc’s Porter pairs well with desserts: pecan pie, brownies, cheesecake, chocolate peanut butter cookies, toasted coconut cookie bars. And it does quite well with tart and acidic or fruity foods. After dinner, try it to compliment a good cigar. Porters are truly one of the most versatile of beers. Doc’s will be on the shelves in mid June and available year round. 6.4% ABV.
