Crystal Springs Brewing Company is hiring an Assistant Brewer.

Assist in all Brewing and Packaging Operations
Brew beer, transfer beer, and monitor fermentation progress
Package beer via canning line, kegging, and bottling processes
Operate, clean and maintain grain processing equipment
Operate CIP (Clean In Place) systems for all brewing and cellaring equipment, including the use of potentially dangerous chemicals
Operate Keg Washer
Clean and sanitize all beer contact surfaces and equipment
Place and return to storage hoses, parts, pumps, buckets, and all equipment
Crop and pitch yeast
Carbonate finished beer and prepare beer for packaging
Regularly and safely work around high voltage, flame and hot water
Ensure proper record keeping of all brewing and cleaning activities
Be mindful of potential quality concerns
Maintain compliance with all brewery safety protocols
Remain in constant communication with the Lead Brewer and Managers
Self-motivated to create world class beer

Have a valid drivers license and clean record
Can lift 55lbs frequently and move up to 170lbs
Ability to stand, walk, crouch, and lift regularly throughout the duration of shift
Positive outlook and attitude
Critical thinking and problem solving skills
Attention to detail
Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining safety and quality standards
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to manage multiple processes at one time.
Self motivated with good time management skills.
Excellent communication skills and willingness to communicate with other staff
Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Internet.
Brewing experience and education is welcomed, but not necessarily required. A will to learn, to listen, to adapt, and to be open minded and creative are more important.
In addition to the preceding list of clearly-defined responsibilities, there are a plethora of unpredictable tasks that arise on a day-to-day basis. We expect all our brewery employees to be willing to take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed, pursuing them with the same passion, care and attention as she/he does every other task. Flexibility is critical.
